This course has been designed to recognise individuals with a foundational understanding of fire science and human behaviour, and covers the additional material to complete the award in doors and shutters.

  • Building performance in fire

  • The role of fire doors and shutters and describe the construction of different types of door and shutter

  • The components of a fire doorset or assembly
  • The  factors relevant to fire door installation

  • The considerations in relation to the ongoing use of fire doorstep and assemblies
