Overview

This course has been designed to recognise individuals with a foundational understanding of fire science and human behaviour with a special focus on walls, floors, ceilings and glazing. It will assist you in preparing for the IFE examination and has multiple tests to prepare you for the examination.

  • Basic priniples of Means of Escape
  • Important aspects of  passive fire protection
  • Building performance in fire
  • The different glazing options and the factors to be considered when selecting and implementing options
  • The function, composition and performance characteristics of fire resisting walls, floors and ceilin
  • The factors affecting the degree of fire resistance required
  • The function, composition and performance characteristics of active fire barrier system
