Overview
This course has been designed to give you a greater understanding of passive fire protection and follows on from the level 2 course. It covers all the fundamental principles but goes into more depth in certain areas. The course has been designed to assist those preparing to sit the IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection.
From March 2025, the Institution of Fire Engineers is pleased to announce that their Passive Fire Protection exams (Level 2 and Level 3) will only be available online in a multiple-choice format, providing a more accessible and flexible testing experience for all candidates.

- Fire resisting walls, floor and ceilings
- Fire resisting glazing
- Fire stopping and penetration seals, cavity barriers and the building envelope, ductwork and dampers
- Fire resisting doors, industrial shutters and associated hardware
- Building regulations, approved documents and passive fire protection
