This course is designed for all those who work in the care industry. It will inform them of the hazards from Psychosocial hazards in the workplace and their managers responsibilities
Most jobs involve some psychosocial hazards. These are the hazards that can harm workers’ mental health.
Under the model WHS laws, a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), such as an employer, must manage psychosocial risks (e.g. risks to mental health) at work.
The PCBU, its managers and the workers have a duty under work health and safety (WHS) laws to provide and contribute to a mentally healthy workplace . This means you need to manage any risks from psychological hazards in your workplace, also manage the exposure to psychosocial hazards can cause stress, which can lead to psychological or physical harm.
The course will also explore practical strategies and frameworks for providing peer support, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and knowing when to seek professional assistance for more complex issues.
